The 2025 Mountain Rain or Snow photo contest provided a view of winter through your eyes. We received 98 photo submissions from 37 different observers. Here, we share the winning photos for each of these categories:
Winter Adventures Category: Recreation, fun, and enjoyment of winter.
Winter Landscapes Category: Eye-catching, beautiful winter scenes from across the continent.
Impacts of Winter Weather Category: The ways that winter weather affects our lives.
Photos were rated by our team of scientists according to three criteria: Connection to the category, uniqueness/charisma, and regionality (the photo portrays a connection to the region in which it was taken). Thank you to everyone who submitted photos!
Winter Adventures
